fuck, me too. they’re basically the reason i started my band. when we got to tour with them, i floated on air for about a month previous to the dates.
it was cool. we already knew each other because of the tour, and i’m pretty good friends with his wife Chantal, so I thought I’d just ask, and he said ‘sure’.
We quickly realized we’d both been obsessed (randomly) with the same youtube video of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince on Arsenio Hall, and that we wanted to do something like it, but tongue-in-cheek irresponsible.
I went and hung out with them in Seattle a few months ago, and Jimmy said he wrote the verses while driving and road-raging. awesome.
